City Council Executive Session
May 3, 2004
The Mt. Vernon City Council held an Executive Session on Monday, May 3, 2004 at 7:40 p.m. in the Park Office at Veterans Park.
Present were: Council Member Ricky D. Heck, Council Member John Howard, Council Member David E. Keen, Council Member Mike Walker, Mayor Milton R. Sees, City Attorney David R. Leggans, City Clerk Jackie Sharp and City Manager Roy L. Payne.
The purpose of this Executive Session was for discussion on personnel and Real Estate.
Mr. Roy Payne spoke regarding real estate involved in the Veterans Memorial- 42nd Street area and the overpass project. The City is negotiating with some of the owners regarding their properties. Some of the property will be landlocked if the project is done a certain way. Mr. Payne explained how he thought the project could be handled with everyone being in agreement.
City Manager Roy L. Payne spoke regarding the union negotiations that are in progress. Mr. Payne then spoke regarding department head salaries. Council discussed some of the department heads and performance issues.
City Manager Roy L. Payne left the meeting and Council then discussed his salary.
Council returned to Regular Session at 8:05 p.m.
