Bulk Trash Program

The Bulk Trash Program is held on the third Wednesday of each month from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Residents will be charged a fee for dumping items, which will be used to pay for the three 30-yard trash dumpsters and one 30-yard dumpster for metal products.  The dumpsters are set up at the fenced Public Utilities/Fleet Services facility at the corner of 12th Street and Casey Avenue.

Those bringing items will be charged $25 for a pickup truck load; $10 for appliances; $3 for mattresses/box springs; $8 for couch-sized furniture; and $5 for furniture that is smaller, such as chairs and recliners.  According to City Manager Ron Neibert, appliances, mattresses and furniture will be charged by the piece and can't be combined in a pickup load.

Residents will need to go into the Public Works Facility and tell the attendant what they have.  The attendant will issue a dump ticket, and the person will then take the ticket and proceed to the dump area, show the worker the ticket and then unload directly into the applicable dumpster.

Items that are prohibited and have to be handled in a special way include tires, concrete, paints/solvents or other liquids, landscape waste or hazardous materials.

The program is only for residents and businesses can't use the program for commercial waste, which includes independent haulers of trash.  Illegal dumping will not be tolerated, and security cameras at the site help with prosecution of anyone caught dumping trash over the fence at the facility or dumping without obtaining a dump ticket.
