Arbor Day Celebration
The Mt. Vernon Parks & Recreation Department will be celebrating Arbor Day on Saturday April 30th.
This event will be part of the department's Family Adventure Series.
There will be a wide variety of activities that will provide information and entertainment for the whole family. There will be several stations set up around the north end of Veterans Park that will teach you the proper tree planting steps, the need for nuisance tree removal, and how to select the right tree for your home. A team of local tree service workers will be on hand to demonstrate rope climbing skills. Children will also have the opportunity to try their ability at a climb wearing proper safety equipment.

Annual Tree Give Away Registration: April 26-27 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Must Reside within City Limits. Call 242-6890 to reserve your tree. Trees distributed at Arbor Day Celebration by the Mt. Vernon Tree Board & Master Gardeners.
