CITY OF MT. VERNON, ILLINOIS
EXECUTIVE SESSION
JANUARY 17, 2006
The Mt. Vernon City Council held an Executive Session on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at 7:40 p.m. at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building, Veterans City Park, Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Present: Mayor Milton Sees, Council Member Rick Heck, Council Member John Howard, Council Member David E. Keen, Council Member Mike Walker, City Manager Roy L. Payne, City Attorney David R. Leggans and Acting City Clerk Mary Jo Pemberton.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss personnel and pending litigation.
City Manager Roy L. Payne reported on an imminent lawsuit regarding a cellular tower placed on property on South 42nd Street.
Discussion was held regarding the anticipated loss of two experienced Fire Inspectors and the appointment of future inspectors. Discussion was then held about training opportunities to ensure that the City has qualified staff, which is knowledgeable of the new building codes.
City Manager Roy L. Payne gave a report on issues relating to a municipal license for private ambulance companies and the effect on Fire Paramedics personnel.
