City Council Executive Session

The Mt. Vernon City Council met in Executive Session on January 2, 2007 beginning at 7:30 p.m.

 

Present at the meeting were: Mayor David E. Keen, Council Member Ricky D. Heck, Council Member Shirilyn Holt, Council Member John Howard, Council Member Mike Walker, City Clerk Jackie Sharp, City Attorney David R. Leggans, Interim City Manager Merle Hollmann, Human Resources Director Mary Jo Pemberton, Police Chief Chris Mendenall and Assistant Police Chief Chris Deichman.

 

The purpose of this Executive Session was Regarding Pending Litigation.

 

PENDING LITIGATION # 1

 

Council was updated the current status of litigation involving leave in the Police Department.

 

Police Chief Chris Mendenall and Assistant Chief Chris Deichman left the meeting at this time.

 

PENDING LITIGATION # 2

 

Council was given an update on litigation involving a former employee.  Attorney Jerry McDonald spoke to Council on this item. Mr. McDonald then left the meeting.

 

PENDING LITIGATION # 3

 

Discussion was held on litigation regarding a land use.

 

Council returned to Open Session at 9:50 p.m.
