City Council Executive Session
October 3, 2005
The Mt. Vernon City Council met in Executive Session on Monday, October 3, 2005 at 7:20 p.m.
Present were: Council Member Ricky D. Heck, Council Member John Howard, Council Member David E. Keen, Council Member Mike Walker and Mayor Milton R. Sees. Also present were: City Manager Roy L. Payne, City Attorney David R. Leggans, City Clerk Jackie Sharp and Human Resources Director Mary Jo Pemberton.
The purpose of this meeting was for Discussion regarding personnel and pending litigation.
The pending litigation is that a former employee has filed a charge against the City Manager. This is the same employee that had talked about filing against the former mayor.
Discussion was held regarding the incidents claimed. Discussion was held regarding insurance covering the claim.
The former employee would have 90 days to pursue a civil lawsuit.
The Executive Session ended at 7:50 p.m. and Council returned to Regular Session for adjournment.
