City Council Executive Session
February 20, 2007
The Mt. Vernon City Council held an Executive Session on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. in the Park Office.
The purpose of this Executive Session was Pending Litigation and Land Acquisition.
Present were: Council Member Ricky D. Heck, Council Member Shirilyn Holt, Council Member John Howard, Council Member Mike Walker and Mayor David E. Keen, Corporation Counsel Bill Howard, City Clerk Jackie Sharp and City Manager Ron Neibert.
LAND ACQUISITION –
City Manager Ron Neibert reported on the status of the negotiations regarding the real estate for the sewer treatment plant.
PENDING LITIGATION
Pending litigation was discussed regarding a former employee filing suit against the City. There has been no report from the EEOC.
Another City employee suit was discussed and it was determined that the case was set for February 2008 with a conference call sometime in March of this year.
Motion by Council Member Ricky D. Heck to go back into open session at 8:30 pm. Second by Council Member Mike Walker. Yeas: Heck, Holt, Howard, Walker and Keen.
