City Council Executive Session

April 21, 2008

The Mt. Vernon City Council met in Executive Session on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 8:20 p.m.

In attendance were:

Council Member Mary Burgan, Council Member Shirilyn Holt, Council Member David Wood, Mayor Mary Jane Chesley, City Clerk Jackie Sharp, City Attorney David R. Leggans, City Manager Ron Neibert and Attorney Jerry McDonald.

The purpose of this meeting was for Pending Litigation and Sale and Purchase of property.

PENDING LITIGATION

Discussion was held with Attorney Jerry McDonald regarding a suit by a former employee.

This employee claims that he was dismissed in retaliation and he filed an EEOC lawsuit.

Possible damages the employee is asking for were discussed.

Discussion was held regarding a summary judgment.

SALE OR PURCHASE OF PROPERTY

Discussion was held regarding leasing or selling a piece of property on Jaycee Lake.

Discussion was held regarding the possible purchase of property to use as a new Maintenance Building.
