City Council Executive Session
June 4, 2007
The Mt. Vernon City Council held an Executive Session on Monday, June 4, 2007 in the Park Office at Veterans Park at 8:30 p.m.
Mayor Mary Jane Chesley called the Executive Session to order.
In attendance were: Mayor Mary Jane Chesley, Council Member Mary Burgan, Council Member Shirilyn Holt, Council Member Mike Walker, Council Member David Wood, City Clerk Jackie Sharp, City Manager Ron Neibert, Human Resources Director Mary Jo Pemberton and Corporation Counsel Bill Howard.
The purpose of this Executive session was for Discussion of Purchase of Real Estate and Pending Litigation.
City Manager Ron Neibert asked Human Resources Director to update Council on the Pending Litigation of Nathan Piggs' Case. Mrs. Pemberton left the meeting at 9:01 p.m.
The Cell Tower property encroachment lawsuit was discussed.
City Manager Ron Neibert discussed an economic development prospect and its status, which requires the City to provide the land for the Company to build on. Options on the land and building and possible lease/purchase terms were discussed.
Council returned to Regular Session at 9:50 p.m.
