City Council Meeting

April 29, 2011 - 3:07 p.m.

 

 

Mayor, Mary Jane Chesley, called the Council Meeting to order.  Roll call showed present: Council Member, Mary Burgan, Council Member, Todd Piper and Mayor, Mary Jane Chesley.  Absent: Council Member, Dennis McEnaney and Council Member, David Wood.

 

City Manager, Ron Neibert, stated that item # 1 was pulled from the agenda.

 

Council Member, David Wood, entered the meeting at 3:08 p.m. A First Reading of an Ordinance Regarding Water, Sewer and Refuse Collection Rates was presented.  Motion by Council Member, Todd Piper, to Suspend the Rules to Vote on an Ordinance.  Second by Council Member, Mary Burgan. Yeas: Burgan, Piper, Wood and Chesley.  Absent: McEnaney.  Motion by Council Member, Todd Piper, to Adopt Ordinance # 2011-20, an Ordinance Regarding the Water, Sewer and Refuse Collection Rates.  Second by Council Member, David Wood.  Yeas: Burgan, Piper, Wood and Chesley.  Absent: McEnaney.

 

City Manager, Ron Neibert, asked that the next three items be set for First Read Only.  First Reading of an Ordinance Approving the Tax Increment Redevelopment Plan and Project for the Industrial Park Conservation (IPC) Area # 2. 

 

First Reading of an Ordinance Designating the Industrial Park Conservation Area # 2.

 

First Reading of an Ordinance Adopting the Tax Increment Financing for the Industrial Park Conservation Area # 2.

 

Council held First Read Only on these three items.

 

First Reading of an Ordinance Approving the 2011/2012 Annual Budget was presented.  Motion by Council Member, Mary Burgan, to Suspend the Rules to Vote on an Ordinance.  Second by Council Member, Todd Piper.  Yeas: Burgan Piper, Wood and Chesley.  Absent: McEnaney.  Motion by Council Member, Mary Burgan, to Adopt Ordinance # 2011-21, an Ordinance Approving the 2011/2012 Annual Budget. Second by Council Member, David Wood. Yeas: Burgan, Piper, Wood and Chesley.  Absent: McEnaney.

 

Council Member, David Wood, asked to have a meeting in the near future regarding the demolition of homes in the City. Discussion would include the number of homes to be demolished and ways to incur funds for demolitions.  

Mayor, Chesley, stated that some of this can be discussed at the Quarterly Budget Reviews.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION

 

Motion by Council Member, David Wood, to go into Executive Session to discuss Real Estate Acquisition. Second by Council Member, Todd Piper. Yeas: Burgan, Piper, Wood and Chesley.  Absent: McEnaney.
