Help Plan Mt. Vernon

The Comprehensive Plan has four core groups:  Economic Development, Infrastructure, Land Use and Quality of Life.  These groups have been working hard for the last five months going over the demographics of Mt. Vernon and brainstorming ideas.

As of October 30, 2008, each core group has discussed and reviewed baseline data:  Where are we?  What are our strengths?  What are our opportunities for improvement?  Each core group has developed a list of possible improvement areas; as well as a list of strategic initiatives or targets for improvement.  The results of the committees can be found on the individual committee tabs of this web page.

Further background information and data is presented for your review within the Comprehensive Plan Fact Book tab.  This information will be helpful in determining where Mt. Vernon has been, where we are, and where we want to be in the future.

In November, the Comprehensive Plan committee began the process of gathering data from the residents of Mt. Vernon.
