Crooked Creek Golf Links

If you enjoy the outdoors and enjoy golf, then this is the course for you and your family.  The relaxed and pleasant atmosphere of this 18 hole public course is laid out over rolling hills, beautiful lakes and outlined by large oak trees.  Players enjoy their favorite pass time as well as the scenery.  Picnic facilities and driving range available.  Located approximately 7 miles northwest of Mt. Vernon, IL at 8250 E. Green Hills Golf Club

This 18-hole semi-private country club is located just off Route 15 at 3800 Old Fairfield Road in Mt. Vernon, IL.  The golf course is set among many beautiful trees and rolling hills which can only be established by Mother Nature over time.  The lush Bermuda fairways and Bent grass greens make for an enjoyable playing field as well as adding to the beauty of the course.  With four sets of tees, the longest over 6,500 yards, Green Hills appeals to all levels of golfers.  A large driving range, practice green and chipping green are available for your enjoyment.

Indian Hills Golf Course

This public, 18 hole course with 4 par 3's, 10 par 4's and 4 par 5's, and tree-lined outside boundaries provides challenge and fun for the beginner and the advanced golfer.  The lighted driving range provides extended hours for practice and, since the course is open whenever the weather permits, covered golf carts are available for the "rain or shine" players.  From May through September, group golf classes are offered free each Saturday.  A snack bar is also available for light refreshments.  Located at 20 Indian Trail Drive, just go north on 42nd Street to Richview Road, turn right on Richview Road to Indian Trail Drive and turn north on Indian Trail Drive.  For more information or tee times call (618) 244-9697.

Rend Lake Golf Course

Rend Lake, located at 12476 Golf Course Drive in Whittington, just off exit 77 on Interstate 57 south of Mt. Vernon (click here for detailed map of area), Rend Lake Golf Course is one of the finest public golf course facilities in the Midwest.  The twenty-seven hole complex features large contoured Bent grass greens along with Zoysia fairways and tees.  Rend Lake is recognized as both challenging for the accomplished player and enjoyable for the beginning golfer.  Rend Lake annually hosts the Gateway PGA Southern Illinois Open and hosted the Illinois State Amateur in 1998.
