SUBJECT: Trees / Tree
Limbs / Brush
PUBLIC NOTICE TO:
Residents
The City will not enter
private property to pick up any trees, tree limbs, brush or other
landscape waste whether originating from city right-of-way or
private property.
Storm Events
The public works department
will pick up any tree limbs / brush that were brought down due to
storm event provided that the material is placed out at the
curb/street side within 2 weeks after a storm. This material
could have originated from either public or private property.
Non-storm Events
Any tree limbs / trees /
brush originating from private property (not caused by a storm
event) shall be the responsibility of the homeowner to
maintain/dispose of. This material can be picked up by the
City trash service provided that it is either placed in the refuse
container (provided by Midwest Waste) or placed in biodegradable
paper bags. Note that the homeowner will probably need to
downsize the material in order for this to be possible. Any material
too large to be placed in the afformentioned containers will be the
responsibility of the homeowner to dispose of, either by contacting
a private landscape waste company or by transporting to a landscape
waste disposal site. Note that the City does not currently provide
a landscape waste site. We appreciate your understanding as we
implement this procedure throughout the City of Mt. Vernon.
