Solar Eclipse Prompts Early Bin Collection

Residents of Mt. Vernon are advised to prepare for early bin collection on Monday, April 8th, as Republic Services takes precautionary measures ahead of the upcoming solar eclipse. With anticipation of increased traffic congestion, the waste management company aims to ensure efficient collection services while minimizing disruptions to residents.

In light of the celestial event, Republic Services will start bin collection one hour earlier than usual. Residents are urged to place their bins out for collection ahead of schedule to facilitate the process.

While every effort will be made to complete the scheduled collection route on Monday, there is a possibility of some areas not being serviced due to unforeseen circumstances. Should any bins remain uncollected, Republic Services assures residents that these will be promptly attended to on Tuesday.

This proactive approach underscores the commitment of Republic Services to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our community, even amidst unique events such as a solar eclipse.

Residents are encouraged to cooperate with the early bin collection schedule to ensure a smooth process and minimal inconvenience.

The City of Mt. Vernon and Republic Services thanks you for your cooperation and understanding.
