Asphalt Milling Project - Important Notice for Residents
The City of Mt. Vernon's subcontractor will be conducting asphalt milling starting Wednesday, October 2, through Friday, October 5, 2024. During this process, approximately 2 inches of asphalt will be removed to prepare the streets for a new layer of pavement.
The milling will take place on the following streets:
- Lilac Street - 42nd Street to Linden Avenue
- Nature Trail/Buffalo
- Mannen Street - 27th Street to Cherry Street
- 27th Street - Broadway Street to Railroad Avenue
- 22nd Street - Logan Street to Perkins Avenue
- 18th Street - Logan Street to Perkins Avenue
- 7th Street - Main Street to Brickyard
Please note, these streets will be closed to thru traffic at various times during the project. We ask that you plan alternate routes when equipment is present and use extra caution for the safety of both our workers and motorists.
Important Notice to Residents on Affected Streets: Driveway access will be maintained, except for brief periods when the milling machine is operating in front of your property. Please exercise caution when driving near the milling operations.
