City of Mt. Vernon Announces City Wide Pavement Marking Project

We are pleased to announce the upcoming "City Wide Pavement Marking Project 2024-2025," a vital initiative aimed at improving the safety and appearance of our city's roadways. This project involves repainting 67,000 lineal feet of 4-inch pavement markings across Mt. Vernon, enhancing visibility for drivers and pedestrians alike.

The pavement markings are essential for maintaining clear traffic lanes, crosswalks, and other roadway indicators. This project is a significant step towards ensuring safer and more efficient travel within our community.

The City of Mt. Vernon is currently seeking bids from qualified contractors to undertake this project. The bidding process is open, and we are committed to selecting a contractor who will deliver high-quality work that meets our city's standards. Bids will be received until 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 5, 2024, and the project is scheduled to commence shortly thereafter.

For those interested, bid packets and detailed project information are available at the City Clerk's Office in City Hall. You can also visit our website at http://www.mtvernon.com/bidsandrfps for more details.

We are excited about the positive impact this project will have on our streets and look forward to seeing the improvements take shape. Should you have any questions or need further information, please contact Matt Fauss, Public Works Director, at (618) 242-6853 or via email at matt.fauss@mtvernon.com.
