City of Mt. Vernon Seeks Proposals for Street Maintenance Materials

The City of Mt. Vernon is inviting contractors to submit sealed proposals for the supply of Street Maintenance Materials. These proposals will be accepted at the office of the City Clerk, located at 1100 Main St., City Hall, until 10:00 a.m. on June 11, 2024. At that time, the proposals will be publicly opened and read.

Interested parties must use the official forms provided by the Local Agency. These forms are available at the Public Works Department, 1201 Casey Avenue, Mt. Vernon, Illinois. All proposals should be enclosed in an envelope labeled “Street Maintenance Material Proposal.”

Key points to note:
- The City retains the right to waive technicalities and reject any or all proposals.
- A proposal guarantee, as detailed in the BLRS Special Provision for Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Material Proposals, is mandatory. Bid bonds are not acceptable.
- The successful bidder will not need to deposit a contract bond. Instead, the proposal guarantee check will serve this purpose.
