🚨 System-Wide Boil Water Order in Effect 🚨

Due to work on a main transmission line, a system-wide boil water order has been issued. This affects not only the City of Mt. Vernon, but also all communities that receive their water from the City’s supply.

The order is expected to remain in place for 24–48 hours. An official update will be issued as soon as the order is lifted.

Street Work Alert For Ambassador Road

By City of Mt. Vernon - September 16, 2025

Weather permitting, the City of Mt. Vernon Public Works Department will begin installing new
asphalt on Ambassador Road from West of Mt Vernon High School to Nason Lane on
Wednesday - Thursday, September 17 & 18, 2025. This Street will be closed to all traffic
from 8:00 am until approximately 5:00 pm.

There will be no street parking allowed during this time period. Residents along this street will need to park vehicles on adjacent side streets as you will not have access to your driveways during this time.
