Fire Pension Board

The Fire Pension Board is responsible for paying expenses and the controlling and management of the pension fund.

Overview

The Fire Pension was established by Chapter 35, Section 5(B) of the Mt. Vernon Revised Code of Ordinances. The board consists of five members, serving three-year terms. Three of the members are elected by beneficiaries of the fund, two active members and one retired member. Two members are standing members and are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. The City Treasurer serves as an ex offcio member.
