Parks & Recreation Coordinator

Position Type: Full Time

Hours of Work: Monday- Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000, Benefits

Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Facilities Mgmt., Sports Mgmt. or similar fields preferred.  Applicants with two or more years of responsible work experience in recreation or a directly related field required. Knowledge of a wide variety of recreational programs for all age groups and interests, and experience working with the public is preferred. Organizational and communication skills are required. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Residency within Jefferson County, Illinois required. Applicants must be able to pass background/credit checks and medical assessment. EOE.

Accountant

Position Type: Full Time

Hours of Work: Office Hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., some overtime may be required

Salary: $16.50 per hour, Benefits

Candidate will be primarily responsible for data entry of payroll and accounts receivable.  Candidates should possess strong math skills, data entry experience, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Good organization and communication skills are also preferred. Attention to detail required. College coursework in Accounting or a directly related field is desirable. Position is responsible for basic data entry including posting journal entries, transactions, and entering invoices. Other responsibilities will include: reconciling various bank accounts, tracking payments of various local taxes, involvement in the payroll process, assisting with the budget, assisting with external audit spreadsheets, maintaining files, and other tasks as assigned. Residency within Jefferson County, Illinois is required after 6 months of employment. Human Resources Assistant

Position Type: Full Time

Applicants must have the ability to perform a variety of Human Resources duties that require the knowledge of the daily departmental operations; perform responsible and confidential duties and research into HR processes; prepare departmental time records and payroll reports; create and maintain spreadsheets and databases on a personal computer; type and proof a variety of materials, assist department head in the collection of various materials and data for special reports and special projects; work with employees’ and retirees’ health and workman’s compensation insurances, death benefits, IMRF enrollment, policy preparation and implementation; establish and maintain comprehensive administrative, personnel, and confidential files, and have the initiative and ability to use independent judgment and work efficiently with minimal supervision. This individual also must learn and understand IMRF, workman’s compensation, Medicare supplemental insurance and health insurance.  Intermediate/advanced Excel & Word skills. Residency within Jefferson County, Illinois required.

Laborer

Position Type: Full Time

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., may require evening and weekends

Salary: $23.10 per hour w/CDL/$18.48 per hour no CDL and benefits

Applicants must be able to lift 80 lbs. and perform physical labor in inclement weather. Candidates with CDL License and experience with concrete, carpentry, mowing, electrical, welding, plumbing, janitorial, and mechanics are preferred.
