The City of Mt. Vernon partners with Republic Services to provide garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection for our residents. Use the maps and schedules below to find your pick-up days and stay up to date with holiday changes.
Track My Truck — Real-Time Collection Updates
Republic Services offers Track My Truck, an online tool to help you:
- View your trash, recycling, and yard waste collection schedule
- Stay informed about upcoming holiday service changes

No app to download. No account to create. Just enter your service address for instant access to your collection calendar and real-time route updates.
Holiday Schedule
There is no garbage collection on these holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day (4th of July)
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
When a holiday falls on your regular collection day, your service will be delayed by one day.
Example: If your regular pick-up is Monday and Christmas Day falls on Monday, collection will occur on Tuesday that week.

Garbage Schedule
Garbage is collected Monday through Friday depending on your address. Each route is color-coded on the map below:
Monday = Green, Tuesday = Olive, Wednesday = Purple, Thursday = Orange, Friday = Pink.

Recycling Schedule
Recycling is picked up every other week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, based on your address. Each area of the city is assigned a route shown on the map.

Yard Waste Schedule
Yard waste is collected every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, based on your regular trash collection schedule. Each area of the city is assigned a pickup route shown on the map.
